Do you know how much trash is dumped into landfills each year? Just on Kaua'i alone, we produced 96,879 tons of trash just in 2009 to 2010. One thing we can do to lower that amount is to up cycle. Up cycling is when you turn something old into something new and improved.
Today we will be showing you how to make a phone speaker from a stacked chip can. The materials you will need to make this speaker are tape, 4 medium sized binder clips, scissors, and, of course, a stacked chip can.
First, start out by cutting a hole in the can for your phone. Make it slightly bigger than your phone so it can fit. Then, tape your binder clips to the can by separating the two handles and making sure one handle is on the bottom of the can and the other handle is pointing up. They should look as if they're hugging the can. Repeat this on both sides of the can.
To use the speaker, all you have to do is turn on music and put your phone in the can making sure the speakers are in the can. You have now made your very own phone speaker and can share music with your friends.
