Hi! Welcome back to my site for another blog. Today was the start of the actual STN competitions, and I'm not saying Crazy 8’s isn't a competition. I was in Nat Package, so we started the latest than everyone else, so before we got our packets, we went to 1 and 3 fourths of a breakout session. We went to the Nat Package session and the how the eyes work session. One thing I learned in the sessions is that one jump cut is a mistake, two in a row is questionable, and three in a row is technique. I learned this from the Speaker in the Nat Package session.
When we got our packet we found out our topic was natural talent. We sat down and I worked on the questions and Carter looked on Google maps for some places we could get a story. We found a park and started heading there, but when we got there, there was no park. There was a hotel in place of it. When we found out that the Google map was outdated, we went down the other side of the sidewalk. I remembered that I interviewed a person who spoke 2 languages so we headed there, but she was busy with work.
We were down to our last resort, so we headed down to the hotel to see if we could interview a student or something. We got a chaperone from the group sitting beside our group and the interview was great. We shot some B-roll and got to the editing room. Thankfully we edited everything on time, we checked the video, and turned it in on time. I feel like we did good and have a good chance.
Well today was really exciting and very nerve-racking at the same time. I thought we weren't going to get a story on time because it was 12:45 and we didn't have a story when we had about 1 hour left for filming. That's it for this blog. I'll see you in the next one. Bye!
